Firsdown Music Fayre

This will be held on Sunday July 15^th.  There will be no admission charge, a bar, catering and toilet facilities will be available.  A leaflet advertising the event will be distributed to each household in early July.  The Parish Council will have a manned stall at the event with items of interest so please come along and have your say.

Vacancy for two Parish Councillors

Following the District and Parish Council elections of 3^rd May 2007, Firsdown Parish Council now consists of five Councillors with two vacancies.  Could you help? If any resident of Firsdown should be interested in joining the current team of Councillors in this varied and rewarding role then they should contact the Clerk for further details.

Grass and hedge cutting

The Parish Steward has recently carried out grass strimming on verges in the Parish.  In addition the Parish Council has agreed to seek two quotations for the cutting of the grass in the play area, to be carried out four times a year.  The cutting of the hedge on the permissive path from number 99 Firs Road to the back of the woods is intended to be carried imminently.

Highways

The Parish Council have agreed a quotation for the repair and replacement of the missing pane in a bus shelter in Firs Road.  It is hoped that this repair would be carried out in the very near future.

Following a request to Wiltshire County Council from the Parish Council, the Council has received confirmation that the “30” roundel sign indicating the speed limit on entry to Firsdown from Dunstable Crossroads will be re-painted this year.
