Noticeboards

The two new noticeboards have now been erected in the village.  It is planned to replace the noticeboard at the top of Firs Road with the original noticeboard which was situated at Great Croft but necessary repairs are needed to this board before erection can take place.

Residents should please note that any notices or advertisements placed in the noticeboards should be advertised for one month only and should contain a date to ensure this is adhered to.

Planning

S/2006/2165 – 6 Firs Close, Firsdown – new dwelling to rear and replacement garage to existing dwelling.  The Parish Council objected to this application on the grounds that the application contravened H16 of the Salisbury District Council Local Plan, the proposed building would be inappropriate and out of character with the properties in Firs Close, concern that the proposed development would overlook a number of neighbouring properties and concerns over access.

S/2006/2345 – 12 Juniper Road – Full application – side extension.  The Parish Council had no objections to this application.

Parish Steward

The Parish Steward visited on 7^th December and carried out a number of jobs assigned to him.  A report to Clarence (job number 221816) for an unstable boundary stone at Dunstable Crossroads has now been repaired by the Parish Steward.  Residents are always welcome to contact Clarence direct on 0800 23 23 23 concerning issues relating to highways.

Precept

The Parish Council met at their December meeting to decide the Parish precept for 2007/8.  The current precept for 2005/6 is £4,500.00 and the Council voted to request a precept of £4,950.00 from Salisbury District Council.

Highways and Speeding

The Parish Council had received a report of the telephone box in Firs Road being broken and damaged.  This has been reported to the local police and BT.
