Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday 8^th May at 7pm in the Winterslow village hall.  All local residents are warmly invited to attend and refreshments will be provided.   The monthly meeting of the Parish Council will follow the Annual Parish Meeting.

Core Strategy – Preferred Options – Salisbury District Council

Following the public meeting held on 26^th March, this topic was discussed in depth together with audience input and especially with regard to its impact on Firsdown.  Discussion also centred on the document relating to the Strategic Housing Land Availability. 

Following the last meeting a mail shot has been produced and delivered to all households making each aware of the Strategy with inclusions of the relevant sections pertaining to Firsdown.   Following a suggestion from the Parish Council to Councillor Bill Moss, SDC has now extended the consultation period until the 25^th April thus giving residents extra time in reporting their preferences to the District Council.

A vote of many thanks was given to local residents who have helped in raising the awareness of the Core Strategy in the village and thus aiding the Parish Council in their work regarding this important matter.

Planning

S/2008/490 – Full application – creation of new access to provide individual access to No18.  The Parish Council had no objections/supported this application.

S/2008/557 – Full application – first floor extension to front elevation – 112 Firs Road.  Currently on distribution for Parish Council comment.

S/2008/583 – Town and Country Planning Act 1990 – Section 191 – Use of Land and buildings for the storage of building materials and equipment – Cottles Stud, Firsdown.  Currently on distribution for Parish Council comment.
